Access for All Free Thursday

The San Diego Museum of Art offers free admission to all visitors on the second Thursday of every month thanks to an Access for All grant funded by the Art Bridges Foundation, a national arts nonprofit founded by philanthropist Alice Walton. Certain restrictions apply as these days tend to be busy. For your comfort and the safety of the art on view, please leave larger items at home. Coat check is available to stow food, drink, backpacks, and oversized items, including bags exceeding 16x16x8 inches and umbrellas, as these items are not allowed inside the Museum. Additional items may be checked at our discretion. Please note, backpacks and backpack-style child carriers must be worn on the front of the body, carried by hand like a briefcase, or left at coat check. Strollers are allowed in all gallery spaces. Thank you for keeping our works of art safe.

Resident Free Tuesday

The San Diego Museum of Art offers free admission to San Diego County Residents (with ID) on the third Tuesday of every month. Museums for All

Museums for All is a cooperative initiative between the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to offer a signature access program that encourages families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits.

General museum admission is $3.00 per person for up to four individuals with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and a valid form of photo ID. Admission includes up to four individuals per EBT card. For more information about this program, click here.

Museums on Us

Museums on Us offers Bank of America cardholders free general admission to the Museum and other participating cultural institutions on the first full weekend of every month.

Bank of America card holders with active Bank of America, Merrill, or Bank of America Private Bank (U.S. Trust) credit or debit cards and a valid photo ID are eligible to receive free general admission for one adult to participating cultural institutions during program weekends. Groups & Event Ticketing

We welcome social, professional, family, religious, and all other groups to view the wonders of The San Diego Museum of Art. Self-Guided groups (minimum of 10 paying people) require a reservation and payment 14 days in advance. For groups requesting a Docent guided tour a reservation 21 days in advance of your visit. For all groups we request one adult chaperone for every ten children under the age of 15.

Groups of 10 or more receive discounted admission prices. Please call the Group Sales office at (619) 696-1935, or contact us at groupsales@sdmart.org.
