Returning to the Museum for its 15th season, Art of Elan shares a special program that takes inspiration from the Paintings from the Confinement installation, in which San Diego-based artist Marianela de la Hoz shares 11 intimate egg tempera paintings created in 2020–2021 in response to COVID-19. Using “nostalgia” as a lens through which to explore the musical art of modern-day composers Nico Muhly and Kaija Saariaho alongside that of war-torn Europe from the 1940s (with works by Grazyna Bacewicz and Viktor Ullmann), this colorful program also features the world premiere of a new work written by Art of Elan’s former Director of Community Engagement Jory Herman.
Members $40 | Adults $50 | Military $45 | Senior $45 | Students $15
