Alessandra Moctezuma, Professor of Fine Arts and Gallery Director at San Diego Mesa College, will explore the work of female contemporaries of beloved Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, including Remedios Varo, Leonora Carrington, Tina Modotti, Maria Izquierdo, and others who helped shape the idea of Mexicanidad (Mexico’s cultural identity).
