The San Diego Museum of Art is a welcoming space. All who share this space are expected to treat others with respect and dignity. Anyone whose conduct is disruptive, abusive, or discriminatory will be asked to adjust their behavior and may be asked to leave the premises.

The May S. Marcy Sculpture Court and Garden is located next to Panama 66 restaurant. The garden features lush landscaping and picturesque views of the California Tower and San Diego sunsets, and is abundant with twentieth-century sculptures.
Public Hours: The May S. Marcy Sculpture Garden is open 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 4:00 PM–10:00 p.m. Wednesday; and 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Thursday; 11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Sunday when private events are not occurring. Entry is free. Drinks purchased from the Panama 66 restaurant may be enjoyed in the Sculpture Garden. Otherwise, no food or outside drinks are allowed inside the Garden at any time.
Panama 66 in the May S. Marcy Sculpture Court and Garden is open six days per week.

Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day, plus the following dates:
- December 1, 2023, closed during the day, open for December Nights
- December 2, 2023, closed during the day, open for December Nights
- April 25, 2024, closed for Art Alive installation
- April 29, 2024, closed for Art Alive de-installation
The Museum will close early the following dates:
- October 26, 2023, closing at 4:00 p.m.
Admission
Tickets include same-day admission to The San Diego Museum of Art and are available for purchase online or in person at the time of your visit. Admission to the May S. Marcy Sculpture Court and Garden is free.

Accessibility
All parts of the Museum are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs or mobility equipment. The access ramp entrance is located at the east end of the front of the Museum.

Groups & Event Ticketing

We welcome social, professional, family, religious, and all other groups to view the wonders of The San Diego Museum of Art. Self-Guided groups (minimum of 10 paying people) require a reservation and payment 14-days in advance. For groups requesting a Docent guided tour a reservation 21-days in advance of your visit. For all groups we request one adult chaperone for every ten children under the age of 15.
Groups of 10 or more receive discounted admission prices. Please call the Group Sales office at (619) 696-1935, or contact us at groupsales@sdmart.org.

Special Offers
Resident Free Tuesday
The San Diego Museum of Art offers free admission to San Diego County Residents (with ID) on the third Tuesday of every month. A valid ID is required for admission, and certain restrictions apply as these days tend to be busy. For your comfort and the safety of the art on view, please leave larger items at home. Coat check is available to stow food, drink, backpacks, and oversized items, including bags exceeding 16x16x8 inches and umbrellas, as these items are not allowed inside the Museum. Additional items may be checked at our discretion. Please note, backpacks and backpack-style child carriers must be worn on the front of the body, carried by hand like a briefcase, or left at coat check. Strollers are allowed in all gallery spaces. Thank you for keeping our works of art safe.
Seasonal Offers
Blue Star Museums: Blue Star Museums offer free admission to the active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve. Blue Star Museums 2024 begins on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, 2024, and ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024. Free admission is offered for up to five family members.

Museums for All
Museums for All is a cooperative initiative between the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to offer a signature access program that encourages families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits.
General museum admission is $3.00 per person for up to four individuals with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and a valid form of photo ID. Admission includes up to four individuals per EBT card. For more information about this program, click here.
Museums on Us
Museums on Us offers Bank of America cardholders free general admission to the Museum and other participating cultural institutions on the first full weekend of every month.
Bank of America card holders with active Bank of America, Merrill, or Bank of America Private Bank (U.S. Trust) credit or debit cards and a valid photo ID are eligible to receive free general admission for one adult to participating cultural institutions during program weekends.
