Conversation: Black Life Exhibition

We invite Circle members to join us for a conversation about the exhibition Black Life: Images of Resistance and Resilience in Southern California. The discussion will focus on the Museum’s partnership with the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Arts and California State University, Northridge, and the process of bringing this exhibition to the public.

Participants include Gaidi Finnie, exhibition co-curator and Board Chair of the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Arts, Denise Rogers, Ph.D., consulting scholar and Professor of Art History at San Diego Mesa College, and Johanna Benson, Education Manager at The San Diego Museum of Art. Following the conversation, Dr. Rogers will lead a tour of the gallery and highlight some of the works on view.
