The Indian and Southeast Asian art market has developed and grown significantly over the last two decades. Deepanjana D. Klein, Ph.D., International Head of Classical and Modern Indian and Southeast Asian Art at Christie’s will detail the major collectors and curators who played a critical role in defining the field of Classical Indian art and will discuss the unfolding of the modern and contemporary South Asian art. Peppered with anecdotal and archival material gathered over time, the talk will also address what to look for as a connoisseur in this field.
