11:30–1:30 p.m. PT
May S. Marcy Sculpture Garden
Join us in the Museum sculpture garden for an art-making experience guided by members of The San Diego Museum of Art Teen Council and Museum educators.
Developed by the Teen Council, this workshop invites participants to explore the art of printmaking inspired by the woodblock prints of the Ten Bamboo Studio. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own nature-inspired prints by drawing shapes directly into printing foam, creating a relief block for printing on paper.
The event is free to the community. No reservations are required, and all necessary materials will be provided.
Great for artists of all ages, Community and Family Drop-In Workshops invite artists to enjoy hands-on art-making experiences inspired by the thinking and creating processes of artists on view at the Museum.
The San Diego Museum of Art’s Teen Council offers high school students the opportunity to take on a collaborative role at the Museum and lend their voices to new and existing programs. Students work with Museum staff and their peers to share ideas, develop programming, and implement a Community and Family Art Drop-In Workshop with the Community Engagement department at the Museum.
