SOLD OUT.
The Latin American masters explored the figure and portraiture with distinction. Alfredo Ramos Martínez will be our inspiration in his use of high contrast and limited palette to illustrate the human form in everyday poses. We will create portraits in sketch and wash through the eyes of Rivera and Siqueiros, examining their compositions, poses, and sitters. Figure study opportunities will range from realism to abstracted forms. Charcoal, Conté, pastel, and gouache will be used to create multiple studies in an immersive interactive studio experience. The workshop begins with an exclusive, before-hours tour of the exhibition Modern Masters from Latin America: The Peréz Simón Collection. Participants will then be led through a hands-on workshop by Museum Educator Rogelio Casas. Workshop fee includes all supplies. Open to all skill levels.
