Join us for a weekend of celebration focused on our member community!
Enjoy special behind-the-scenes access, perks, and programming during Member Appreciation Weekend. Throughout the weekend, members are invited to learn more about the Museum’s collection during special docent tours and enjoy special member perks. Members are will also receive an extra 10% discount at The Museum Store (for a total of 20% off your purchase) throughout Member Appreciation Weekend and have the chance to meet two artists showcasing their products at the Store. Meet other members over coffee in the Library and Archives on Saturday, and say hello to the membership team, who will be on hand to answer any questions about membership and the Museum. Join us for our quarterly Art of Reading Book Club (sold out), or enjoy a performance of SDMA+ Romantic ArtStops with The San Diego Shakespeare Society. Don’t miss this special event and the final weekend of Sergio Hernández: Embers of Oaxaca and Chapel of the Rocks. Use your guest passes to bring a guest for the day!

Join us for a morning of mingling with fellow members! On Saturday, February 11, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. doors will open to The Museum Library and Archives, where you can sip on complimentary coffee from Fuzz Coffee Roasters, explore our extensive bookshelves, and meet other Museum members. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer any questions about the Library and Education initiatives at the Museum. Space is limited. Join fellow book lovers and Museum supporters in the Museum’s boardroom where we will enjoy bites of bagels and a cup of coffee while discussing San Diego writer and SDMA advocate Linda Moore’s debut novel, Attribution. Highly trained Museum docents are offering multiple guided tours each day, and we’ve added a few tours especially for Member Appreciation Weekend. Each tour lasts approximately 40-50 minutes. Join us to see San Diego Shakespeare Society actors perform romantic pieces from Shakespeare’s works such as Romeo and Juliet and Antony and Cleopatra paired with works of art from Modern Women, on view now. Performances will be held at various stops throughout the Modern Women exhibition. Look for the meeting point sign inside the Museum’s entry rotunda prior to one of the two one-hour performances at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Learn more about the performance here. - The Art of Bea Roberts at The Museum Store
Bea Roberts is a worldwide traveler and collector, with a passion for cultures and their adornment and artifacts. Her passion has led to a career as a San Diego jewelry & fiber artist. In addition to SDMA, Bea’s designs are showcased in many venues throughout Southern California. She has been an active Museum supporter since 1997 as an enthusiastic participant in many Art Alive events, and a member of multiple museum councils.
