Virtual Tour: A Last Look: Georgia O’Keeffe and Henry Moore

Event Navigation

Wednesday, September 6

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. PT

The Museum’s special exhibition O’Keeffe and Moore closes in San Diego August 27, but you can still take a last look at the incredible work of these two masterful artists. Georgia O’Keeffe and Henry Moore both sought inspiration from the natural world throughout their careers. They were uncannily similar in their need to be in nature and their collection of natural forms such as bones, stones, and shells and both used these found objects as sources for their work. They independently sought and were inspired by the organic roots of modern abstraction, half a world away from each other. This tour will explore these artists’ works and the connection between the themes in which they were engaged, comparing their working methods, exploration of found objects, and the juxtaposition of unlikely forms.

Please reserve your spot 24 hours before the event by clicking on this link. All participants will be sent the Zoom link and instructions via email the day before the tour. Space is limited.
