The Asian Arts Council (AAC) invites you join us for a virtual meeting that includes installation of the 2022/2023 AAC officers of the board, an introduction of the committee chairs, and the June lecture, presented by Courtenay McGowen.
The June lecture, Chinese Export Porcelain: Cultural Exchange through Trade with Europe and the Americas, describes how from caravans across the Silk Road to the opening of maritime trade with both Europe and the rest of the world, Chinese export porcelain tells the tale of the tastes of the people of the time. The Chinese were extremely adept at interpreting both the desires and designs of their clients, and the results are extraordinary.
