Painting conservators use examination techniques such as infrared reflectography and x-radiography to illuminate how artists created paintings and to reveal past treatments. Alexis Miller, Chief Conservator of Paintings, discusses the various investigative techniques used by the Balboa Art Conservation Center and shows examples from the Museum’s collection.
